We have ToT in souther Issan. Yesterday a couple of quick blackouts, then a brown out that lasted well over an hour. My wife needed to get an email out (placing an order for her shop) so she used her laptop and the modem still worked.

So this is one of the few times I won't bitch at ToT.

And agreed, the real engineers who come to the house are very polite and respectful, and easy to work with. We're on a first-name basis with them lol..I think they enjoy coming here to work for 20 minutes and fill the rest of their hour quota sitting around, talking to us, and sipping on Beer Leo.

I was working online all weekend in CM and TOT was fine. Fast too. I have gotten up to 5mb download speed on a 4 mb account. Mostly I get about 3.5 mb download. Once in a while it slows down for a few hours and has gotten as low as 300 kb download speed.

FWIW. central CM location

I am loving TOT and it's not a new account.

OK. South CM here. 1mb package.

I've never seen it do anywhere close to 1mb, but it's usually fine for email and forums. Sometimes OK for youtube.

This weekend was the worst with total shutdown for hours at a time.

Should have been more specific in my original post.

After 8 years of lies from TOT I try not to sweat it. Just pay the minimum and adjust expectations accordingly.

my ToT connection shut down 2 days ago....as there would be no actual help available until after the holiday (confirmed by ToT on 1100) I started to look around with XP...I got into My Network Connections-Internet Gateway and found that it had been disabled!!?? switched it on again then the connection came right back, no probs...

I never did nothin' to disable the Internet Gateway...sumtimes these machines got a mind of their own... :)
