Adultery, As Seen Through The Lens

This is quite true. The west and particular the USA are definately the double standard champs. EZ lays, first date sex, T&A media galore, unrestricted (mostly) porn widely availabe & legal. However, let the media smell the slightest twinge of unfathfullness of any public figure and they are all over hime like a pack of rabid dogs. Example the latest Tiger Woods case where the media are turing over rocks in hope of finding something. What used to be private matters, and still are in Asia, are "hung out to dry" for public condemnation and ridicule.

I think you don't really get it about the Tiger Woods situation.

1. Tiger Woods has always taken great effort to portray himself as beyond reproach in all things.

2. TW has always used the press to his advantage.

3. TW has consistently posted professional family photos on his website which portray his marriage and family as ideal.

4. TW thinks he made himself rich, while in reality we (the public) made him rich.

Now:

1. There is clear information that he is not at all beyond reproach in moral issues.

2. The press is going to reverse things and use Tiger to their advantage. And so, a man with "minor injuries" (according to the hospital which treated him a week ago) does not have the courage to attend even his own golf tournament for fear of being questioned by the press and his colleagues.

3. Those photos that he so proudly posts for financial gain don't look anywhere near as perfect.

4. He is finding out that the public controls his wealth machine because the value of his endorsements is going to suffer.

And by the way, I'm a Tiger fan.

I have seen a number of postings on other forums saying Tiger is finally acting very Thai.

I don't buy it. While each culture has its own variations in moral code, in general, the Thai people I know respect marriage to a similar extent as in the west. The idea that most men have a mia noi...probably not a heck of a lot greater percentage than men in the U.S.
