Itchy Plant Maa Mui

Featured Replies

Near by my house in Nai Harn is this plant the thais call, Maa Mui, not sure of spelling, everyone that comes to visit starts scratching

and I'm going mad.

Can anyone shed some light on what it is and the best cure and or disposal method.

Hi HOBC, a fire is the best way to get rid of that! Did it a few weeks back when my wife saw a plant establishing itself in our garden. BTW, the post is in the wrong topic.

Moved to Plants forum.

MA-MUI หมามุ่ย

Sounds like it might be cowhage.

The plant has various uses as eg silage and some medicinal properties, but apparently the hairs on the outside of the seed pods are used in itching powder.
