Hi all,

I'm looking for the best way to go from Pattaya to Vientiane, to apply for a student visa.

The first two schools told me about some place near soi Buakau that offers an all-in-one package which includes hotels and the trip etc.. For 9000 bath.

The third school told me that it's not difficult to go there by myself, get a bus in Pattaya to Nong Khai (12 hours). Grab a taxi there to cross the border and drive to the nearest bus station (10 min). From get on the bus to Vientiane (30 min).

Does someone have experience with one of these options? Or maybe knows a better way?

Thanks!

The bus option is very do-able. Buses run from Morchit Mai bus station in Kampengphet Road north Bangkok. The other option is to take the bus to Suvarabhumi and fly direct to Vientiane.

If you're able to do it,bus from Rayong to NongKai,many every day, don't know the best place, for you, to take it on the way.

Bus to the border.Visa, bus to Vientiane.Thai Consulate in the morning, visa the next afternoon.

Your paper must be adequate!

Repeat for the return.35$ for Lao visa,1500Baht for travel+living expenses.

A warning:With the SEA Games on Vientiane is full of people this week and the next.

It's not too difficult but a little bit complicated for bus from Pattaya cost around 600 Bht (if you take bus from here please ask for a VIP bus) , tuk tuk to friendship bridge 30 Bht , but taxi , short shuttle bus 15 Bht , but for taxi from Laos border are quiet expensive i use to pay 500 Bht. for return , for guest house you can find easier cost around 700 - 900 Bht. incl. ABF , plus visa fee for non ED 2000 Bht. plus your food drink so around 5000 Bht. are covering your trip , so this's might help :)
