There is no excuse for tossing litter, absolutely none. If you can't deal with the refuse, don't create it.

But there are things that can be done to encourage people to put litter an appropriate facilities, and there are things that can be done to encourage people to toss litter.

I don't like tossing litter, but occasionally, when carrying around bags, having just drunken a coconut I don't feel like carrying that thing for 15 minutes through a crowded street to find a garbage bin. Yes, that is an excuse, and it might not be good enough for you, but it's good enough for me, and, as the garbage on the street shows, quiet a lot of other people.

Fact of life is, people will always produce garbage, and if the government make it too difficult for them to get rid of it properly, they will get rid of it improperly.

If we look back a few years, there were many more bins than today, at least downtown. The reason many were removed is because of the New Year's bombings.

When it comes right down to it, I have never had a problem finding a bin or trash bag. Yes, many times it is not next to me, but I can always find a suitable receptacle in short order. More often than not, a smile and a glance at my trash will have someone point one out. Many have taken it from me to toss themselves. I have never had to lug trash any distance.

I really don't believe that many offenders are too concerned with finding a suitable bin. Unless they are tripping over it, most wouldn't look too far for a bin.

For example, how many times have you observed cigarette butt piles in parking lots? How many times did these clowns have an opportunity to use one of the thousands of plastic bags to cart their butts to the trash? Do you really think the thought even crossed their minds?

In our soi, everyone has a bin out front. Yet, the street is littered with a constantly replenished supply of cigarette butts.

I watch the dregs pass through, unwrapping tasty morsels, tossing the wrappers on the ground, while passing bin after bin.

When I buy a plastic bag I always ask them to put it in another plastic bag!! Just for the hel_l of it

Good way to think as youre keeping twice as many employed in the plastic bag industry.

It's my dream to take a plastic bags company public and hopefully one day have it encompass entire aisles of hypermarts (like back home) instead of the rather modest section it takes up today. The Thai public just needs to be exposed to more romantic and flashy ad campaigns to get them out of the habit of re-using grocery/7-11 bags as trash bags and to discover their needs for 50-60 different size and use Hefty-Heng Bags.

the supermarkets charge money for the plastic bags to make a profit and ease the employees work so you can use your own hands to put your stuff bought in your own bag or pocket yourselves, they really dont care about the environment

If it will reduce the wasted, nothing wrong with it.
