Dear Farang Ladies...

For goodness sake girls, if you fancy a guy, why don't you just tell him - or at least make it more obvious so you don't spend most of your time flirting and wondering and then leave it until the day before he goes home to get drunk enough to tell him how you feel!

This is your only flaw my sweethearts and it's caused me a lot of unnescessary hassle and wasted oppertunity. :o:D:D

It appears our resident senior smartass likes to follow posts he knows he's won't enjoy, just so he can make such comments.

Scampy,

Why didn't you let your feelings be known first? Or got drunk together sooner? A little bit of liquid courage perhaps could have solved that dilemma.

Yes, I've noticed that too.

Does TM live in Thailand?

I’ve been guilty of this when I was younger – all it resulted in was a night of no sleep. :D

Scampy, it’s not always easy to tell someone you like them. Fear is an amazing thing, especially fear of rejection, which most of us have probably experienced (regardless of gender) :D. When it comes to sending the “right signals” keep in mind people have different perceptions on the same events. Some of us don’t want to be presumptuous and then end up looking like idiots. However, in the process we may be running the risk of passing up the best thing that could happen to us. :D

I got one! Second page and I got a reply from a woman, and what a woman at that!

Yes I suppose you're right Nat, but one of us needs to make the first move and I think it should be you girls because us guys fear rejection also.

Why should it be the girls when both sides fear rejection?

Because 9 times out of 10, a woman is almost guranteed an invite back for some coffee by the man but it will be less likely the other way round because the woman won't want to seem easy because if a girl seems easy then she's labelled a slag back in the West which they think is unfair as men are patted on the back.

I agree that it is unfair and it should be more equal, but farang culture still ain't got it right... For years and years females were second class citizens, then slowly we moved towards equality and just as we were almost there, the likes of the Spice Girls and Shania Twain shunted the whole thing over the line and so the scales were tipped slightly the other way, making farangland a difficult place for your avarage man to approach a woman down his local boozer, wearing a T-Shirt with 'If you can read this back off' on it and swigging a bottle of Rolling Rock.

We'll get it right one day, then we can come home. :D

if you fancy him told him, self-confident na is good, if he isnot ok but you and he can be make friends although u will harm from this love but some day he will come back to look you again

cheer y up

I personally do think that being direct with someone I'm interested in is a good thing. I'd rather chance getting rejected than to wait around for something that may never happen. Playing games with someone who you want something sincere with is not something that makes sense to me.

However, some guys will treat a woman better if he had to work hard to impress her early on. I'm sorry to say that but some men really think this way. Some men say they want an easy-going, sincere woman who likes them yet love to chase women who string them along for attention and gifts.

Just the other side of the coin.

I don’t care if I’m labelled a slag or “slut” anymore - I did when I was younger (until I realised that people, if they wanted, would label you a tart even when you weren’t :D). Anyway, back to the invite thing, for me it’s not an issue of looking easy, it’s more a privacy thing. This might sound bizarre :D, but my home is my sanctuary and if I don’t know a guy well enough I don’t want him in my private domain. Also, just in case he turns out to be a bit loopy it’s easier to make excuses to get away from him at his place, rather than trying to get rid of him at mine (this is purely my opinion). :D

Like you said Scampy, 9 times out of 10 there is a guaranteed invite and sure one does receive coffee and a sleepless night, but what else? Those seeking a serious relationship might be sorely disappointed :D:D. I do believe the “getting to know you” (and not in the physical way) is important to anything substantial. However, the only problem with this is the problem outlined at the beginning of this thread. A women may become self-conscious and leave it to the last minute. Many of us (both men and women) have to overcome our insecurities (or what ever one wants to call them) and go after the things we want (that’s so Hollywood, but inspiring none the less). :D:o:D

I think it's better when a girl doesn't lay all her cards out on the table at first. This gives me time to think if I would really want to pursue a relationship with her. Uncertainty is more challenging and makes the hunt more worthwhile. Many women as well are turned off by needy men who have to know what their feelings are all the time.

Ahhhh, the quandary of a long and deep relationship ...

I'm guessing this is a western gal so apologies upfront if I'm incorrect.

If you are going home, to never see this lass again, what do you have to lose by telling HER? Why is it HER fault?

If she is flirting as you say, then what is YOUR problem?

Yes, I know, out here Thailand women have a different way and all that lovely eye flashing can be misconstrued, but western women flirt when they like someone. Or at least I and my friends do.

Those we don't like, we tell to blinking bugger off.
