Rimmer Posted December 14, 2009 Share Posted December 14, 2009 Pattaya, December 14 [PATTAYA ONE NEWS] : On Saturday night 20 police officers from Banglamung station stormed a house in Nongprue district that was allegedly being used as a gambling den. Officers were able to apprehend 25 people- six males and 19 females- although a number of other gamblers were able to evade capture. Police said they had been staking out the place for the past two months. Among those captured was the wife of a village headman from Sattahip. Police believe the gambling den is being operated by this village headman. A senior officer noted that among those arrested were a number of repeat offenders as far as gambling is concerned. He suggested he will ask the court to petition for a change in the laws relating to gambling to increase the punishment for repeat offences.
