December 18, 200916 yr Does anyone know if I can transfer money from my UK credit card to Siam Commercial Bank or Bangkok Bank and if possible what the charges would be?
December 18, 200916 yr Depends who the credit card's with as they all charge differently. It would be treated as a cash advance so charges would start from the day of advance even if you paid it off when you received the statement. Then there'd be the crap exchange rate plus the 2-3% foreign currency loading.

Then there'd be the crap exchange rate plus the 2-3% foreign currency loading. It's Cashplus - a prepaid credit card so no advance charges. The crap exchange rate may be better than the method I use now - taking 16,000 baht a time from the atm, paying about 1000 in charges. Maybe I can transfer a lot more using my Royal Bank of Scotland online bankine, transferring straight to the bank?
December 19, 200916 yr Even the price of Swift transfers varies from bank to bank. Best look at the terms and conditions of your card and ask RBS how much for a Swift transfer.

Ok thanks, I will. Actually I've thought of another way - I can transfer money to an online casino(legal as coming from UK bank) and then they send me a cheque - might save a lot doing that.

December 23, 200916 yr Author Can you supply further details of this please? Well you can join a poker room and transfer cash from your credit card or bank account. After that, you can ask them to send you a cheque. Take the cheque to your bank and pay $20 or $30 I think. Seems a little easier than getting my bank to send me a cheque. I suppose I can go to my bank and use my credit card but the exchange rate will be bad.
December 24, 200916 yr Author How does that get the money to Thailand? I'll go to my bank and give them the cheque. I'm thinking there will be a better exchange rate from the bank than my credit card.
