Microwave Meals

Featured Replies

How's the quality of "microwave meals" in Thailand, for instance the ones which can be bought at "Tops supermarket" ?

tried the ones at 7-11, not bad actually - edible enough :)

I prefer CP over the S&P because of the quality of the rice.

Microwave Meals and Quality is an Oxymoron and a culinary Faux Pax!

Hmm well nothing says quality more than staggering into a 7/11 at 3am looking for something to throw up later than microwave food mate. Give it try. :)

Micro meals in Thailand'... to little, cost to much and they taste like <deleted>. :)

Why , with all the food that they sell on the streets , I often have chicken soup or chicken fried rice .

Fresh, cheap tasty food is available EVERWHERE here. Why would you want to eat a ding ding meal ? :)

They are mostly crap. Any kind of rice meal usually tastes awful with hard dry tasting rice and an oily soggy dish.

There's absolutely no point to pay 49-59 baht for a khao pat poo/talay when you can get the real thing freshly made for less than that and also twice as good. The market for these frozen microwave foods seem to be lazy thai people who can't cook, lift the phone to dial for delivery, and don't have the energy to walk down the street to order food.

If I may add my comments, as a poster already implied "Why buy TV dinners, when there is so many street vendors that sell ready made food so much cheaper"?

In my days when I lived in Pattaya ,I would purchase extra food from those vendors put them in the fridge and heat them up in the microwave ,when hungry. Lot cheaper and fresher than the packaged dinners sold anywhere!

Just another option for you to consider.

Good luck:
