Recommendation For An Agent

Featured Replies

Hi, I am hopeful someone can give me some good advice please. I am heading back home to Australia towards the end of February or early to mid March. I have been in a relationship with my Thai BF for nearly 9 months now. Whilst I will be returning for good, or at least until the end of 2010, I would him to come an visit me for two weeks in Melbourne. We will stay at my sisters house and I have plenty of savings. We have started to look at all the paperwork involved, and it seems very confusing for us both, not the least because of my boyfriends English, and I dont speak all but the most basic Thai. Can anyone recommend a reputable agent that could help us.

Thanks

Andrea

ps. we are in Bangkok

it is not that confusing...

You need to show that..

He is a genuine tourist

he has access to sufficient funds for the trip

He has a reason to return to Thailand

You can provide a letter of support for the application outlining the intentions, where he will stay etc

you will need to show proof of income or at least proof of your available funds.

Evidence that you know each other....photos, letters etc...

The VFS Office has forms in Thai/English so that will make things easier for you both to understand.

The VFS Office is in the CC Towers building near Surasak BTS station

I know of someone in Pattaya who has experience with this kind of thing. He helped my partner to obtain a tourist visa.

If you are thinking of using an agent, have a read of this topic first.

I have never used any of their services, but you might try contacting one of this forums sponsors; I would suggest the one from Australia!

PS, I've edited the topic title to show you are asking about Australia.

It really isnt that hard to do yourself....most Ozzies here have done their own.

Unless your BF has had a run in with the law (criminal record) or had previous applications refused then it is quite a simple process and you save yourself 10000 - 15000 THB.

The visa form is in Thai and English, it should not take any more than 1 hour to fill out. Then get the information that DIAC require and attach to the application form.

The applicant should get a reply within 5 working days after receipt by the Embassy.

Most visa "agents" in Thailand are just form fillers with no knowledge of Australian visa requirements. They do not have any "connections" with anyone within the Embassy and they do not "obtain" a visa for you irrespective of what they may tell you. Use them only to translate documents for you.

There is a question on the application form which asks if the applicant had any assistance to fill out the form and if they charged you for it. Read that part carefully.

The applicant is responsible for what they signed for in the application.

The visa cost is $105 AUD plus the VFS fee.....thats less than 4000 baht to do it yourself.

:)

Bridge Migration deal with these applications.
