Bringing Medication In To Thailand

Featured Replies

I have been going to Thailand every year for 24 years. Since my Heart by pass 11 years ago

I take with me 6 to 8 months medication average 14 tablets aday. So can some one tell me

why should I pay an arm and a leg for some of the tablets that cost 60 baht each

when I get my medication free I'm 73 and get them free on precripsion. But its in the pipe line

that I could get a prison of 25 years if caught. My name is on all the packets, not that proves

anything.

But any excuse to jail a foreigner unless 100.000 baht is passed over to them. I always carry

prescripsion form with me. I'm a Londoner where they come from all over the world for a hand out.

:)

Of course you have comments. But do not all rush together to voice them, yak man .ronyates

What do you mean by "in the pipe line" that you could you to prison??

Unless the drugs in question are controlled substances (unlikely if for heart disease), there is nothing about bringing them in that would risk a jail sentence.

The only issue is that you are bringing in a larger quantiity than is permitted without an import license, and consequence of that if discovered would AFAIK just be confiscation of the meds. ...

I would never be concerned with it, but the limit is a 90 day supply.
