Income figure varies depending on nationality, but for westerners it is minimum 50k/month for extension of stay based on employment. Note there is no minimum income requirements for teachers and members of the media.

isn't there some sort of requiremnt for getting work permit as well...?

because to extend u must earn atleast 50,000B.

also there is no such thai company that will offer this much salary right.

so gotta target those international comapnies i assume for job hunting...?

yet i dont see it happening for average joe blogg without any special qualification. am i right?

A friend of mine worked for his girlfriend's company. The government didn't care how much he made as long as he paid taxes on a 50,000 baht monthly income. I should add that most months he made considerably less and sometimes nothing.

It used to be you only needed the 50.000 income to extend the visa, but since last year they require 50,000 to renew the work permit. At least that's what my accountant/lawyer tells me, and I don't see why they would say that if it wasn't true. It's not like they make any money of this.

If it's a non "O" visa then you need only to either earn 40,000 per month as an income from abroad OR pay taxes based on 40,000 if earning in the Kingdom.

That is totally wrong and nothing to do with the subject.

You are probably talking about extensions of stay based on marriage.

^ Mine was in Chonburi. Maybe different provinces set different limits...

Yes, and also from job title.

"General manager" in Suratthani is 30.000 baht.

Have three friends that also are "General manager".

They renew their WP for 1 year fly to KL and gets a 1 year multiple non-B.

Mine and two of my friends WP's are over 4 years old and one friend has had it for 13 years.

New WP's need to have the extension of stay based on employment rules.
