Any one been there just lately?? Also are the interviewers English??

For overcrowding and security reasons only the applicant is allowed into the visa application centre itself (with some exceptions such as a child applicant). However, the VAC is an office in Regents House and sponsors etc. can enter the building and wait outside the VAC. Neither the VAC nor the British embassy have any control over who their landlord at Regents House allows into the building.

On which subject; when submitting an application make sure that you are in the actual VAC and not the visa agents next door!

Staff at the VAC are, I believe, all Thai. However, they do not decide applications. They merely collect the applications, biometrics, fees etc. and forward them to the embassy, where the decision will be made by an entry clearance officer; who are all British. VAC staff will check the application to see if all the required documents are included, and will advise that the application be withdrawn (without paying the fee) if any are missing; however if the applicant insists they must forward the application to the embassy.

If an interview is required, then this will be conducted by one of the ECOs; however the applicant may request a Thai member of the embassy staff be present to act as an interpreter.

Thank you very much for that. i suppose its not that much different from the Old embassy way where we used to have the documents checked out at entry. But the whole Travel thing is getting crazy really. World Gone mad.

Be careful of a female who will gladly greet you on the second floor and carry your file straight into her office and relieve you of large amounts of cash :) .

This is why we escort our clients and submit the application with them due to previous well documented problems at UK/Vac.
