Does Soi Buakhaow Actually Exist?

Featured Replies

The street seems to be a virtual soi which only exists on internet forums.

I have never found a map of Pattaya which lists this soi by this name. I think I know where it is, because Buakhaow market is often listed. Its Pattaya Tai 22 is it not?

I have never been there, what does it say on the signs on the road? I have tried to find it in the car a couple of times but never really sure where to turn off Pattaya Tai and risk getting caught up in some tiny alley full of motorbikes. Maybe I will set off on foot on an exploration sometime.

You are right mate - it doesn't exist - it's just a figment of farang imagination fuelled by too many Chang beers!

Driving towards Sukhumvit from the centre along Pattay Tai, you will pass Tuk.Com on your right. Take the next left about 100 meters further on. You know you are on the right track if you go up a slight incline from Pattaya Tai.

If you are really nervous then just pull in about 50 meters past Tuk.com and watch for where the songthaew are turning left ahead of you!

The main action is between Pattaya Klaang and Soi Diana, rtaher than at the Pattaya Tai end

You must be looking at different maps to me. I just looked at 4 that I picked up as freebies around the place and it's clearly marked on those as well as a couple of maps you can get off the net....

It exist. It's the large parallel road between 2nd and 3rd road. Try looking for Soi Buakao.

Ask some farang for directions to Lolita's. That will get you very close. Admittedly, the entrance to soi bukaow is not well marked on either Central Pattaya road or Pattya South road. Even when I stayed on that soi, I was often less than sure I went down the right street! Can't miss Soi Bukaow if you are on 2nd road at any of the know places, Lek Hotel, Mike's shopping mall, KISS restaurant, or the top of soi 7 or soi 8. Just walk inland and it will be the first north south running street you hit. I recommend the Oasis around soi LK metro. A decent place with decent seating. Saves a hike down to Walking street.

Robins' nest sunday carvery is pretty darn good. British pub next to the ladyboy place has pretty good lamb on Sunday also.

Soi BuaKhao ( one of many spellings ), is the dirtiest, noisiest, most undesirable, traffic congested address in all of Pattaya. IMO!!! :)

Not walking street then?

I must agree with that, especially on Tuesdays and Fridays!! :D

What! worse than Soi 6 :)

Yeah great foodstalls, library, restrooms, lounges.. :D

Why's that?

Many nice pubs, venues, decent and fair prices guest houses around....the only thing I agree is the traffic, which can be annoying between 5 - 7 pm. Apart from that... :D

The library has moved, if I am not mistaken.

not to forget the opera house which this season will focus on Puccini, Verdi and to a lesser extent on Mozart.

I don't see how you could have missed it. Stop by Lolita's and say hi to the girls. NO KISSING MY TILOCS THOUGH! :)

There must also a couple of classical music places down there as well that specialise in Holst's, The Planet Suite. Or at least that's what I understand from being told about the places where they'll play (with) Uranus.

Take the trip down the street, the market is at this end where the market is.

Well really... where else would the market be than where it is?

I think this confirms that;

(A ) Soi Buakhao does exist, and

(B ) No matter where you go, there you are.
