How do you delete a "post"? How do you delete a "reply"?

You don't. Only a mod can. So the way to do it, is contact a mod. Alternatively, if you are still within the time limit to edit your own post, you can delete the text and post something like Posting error.

The best an ordinary member can do is to edit their post and remove all the text, usually leaving a note to the effect that they have nothing to say, a mod will then delete the post for them.

Edit window is about 10 minutes from the initial posting, after that it's there for eternity unless it breaks forum rules in which case the mods can either edit or remove it.
