Foreign Tourist Assaults Bar Staff & Women in Pattaya Soi 6, Knocked Down in Viral Brawl
So, how do you think your personal experience is relevant when talking about Thailand or Thai people as a whole? You seem to be disagreeing with what is being discussed, but your example does not support any kind of disagreement, since you personally not experiencing something does not mean it doesn't happen. You don't need to be sad, just word your answer in a way that makes the point you are making clearer. And think about what the original post was that you are replying to. I was talking about people perceiving Thai people being violent as not being an issue, but foreign people being violent something very bad, not whether or not Thai people are ever violent, so your personal experiences don't really apply. E.g. "Thai people may be drunk, violent, aggressive, etc., sometimes, but personally I have never had a problem with any Thai person. Even when they jump the queue in front of me, I tell them to get to the back of the line, and they do so." - This still doesn't really apply to what I wrote, as that was a matter of perception, but it makes it a little more relevant. I would certainly agree that Thai people are less likely to be confrontational than a Westerner. -

80,000 Indonesians Working Illegally in Cambodia, Minister Warns
ANTARA A growing number of Indonesians—estimated at over 80,000—are working illegally in Cambodia, many lured into online scams and gambling operations, Indonesia's Minister for the Protection of Migrant Workers has revealed. Speaking on Tuesday in Semarang, Central Java, Abdul Kadir Karding said the workers are classified as illegal due to the absence of a formal labour agreement between Indonesia and Cambodia. “All of these migrant workers are considered illegal,” he said. “We’ve seen a sharp rise in young Indonesians risking unsafe and unregulated employment abroad.” The situation is particularly concerning as many of these workers are involved in illegal online industries. “Their occupations vary,” Karding noted. “Some work in restaurants, but most are tied to online gambling and scamming syndicates.” This marks a shift from traditional destinations for Indonesian migrant workers, such as Saudi Arabia and Malaysia, with Cambodia and Myanmar now emerging as hotspots for illicit labour activity. The minister also confirmed his office is investigating the reported death of an Indonesian worker in Cambodia. “We are trying to identify the victim, but illegal migration leaves us with no official records,” he said. In response, the Indonesian government has begun cracking down on rogue recruitment agencies. “We’ve temporarily closed three illegal placement firms to stem the flow of undocumented workers,” Karding announced. The warning highlights a growing regional concern over human trafficking and labour exploitation in Southeast Asia’s shadow economy. Indonesian authorities are urging citizens to avoid unauthorised overseas job offers and seek legal channels instead. With no bilateral framework in place between Jakarta and Phnom Penh, efforts to protect these vulnerable workers remain limited. The ministry has vowed to intensify public education and enforcement to prevent further tragedies. As the trend continues, calls are mounting for formal agreements and regional cooperation to address the root causes of illegal migration and cross-border exploitation. -2025-04-17 -

Tensions Flare in London as Pro-Palestinian Protesters Pelted with Eggs During Road Blockade
Pennsylvania, so you may be partially correct. Some stores charge the $50, which the state charges them, but some stores waive the fee if you pass it, only charging $50.00 if you fail the back ground check. Then you don't get the firearm either. I suspect that what ever the price is for a firearm, at the store I have been buying at, the $50.00 is added to the cost of the firearm. Which is why they say it is waived, if you pass the back ground check. It isn't waived, you paid it when you purchase the firearm. -

Opening a bank account
I think you may find this statement incorrect. I hold 2 accounts with Bangkok Bank, an account for Immigration and a joint account. I wished to close the Immigration account held in Bang Saphan and open it in Hua Hin where I now reside. I was able to do this with the joint account back in Nov/Dec 2024. Bearing in mind I have lived here for 10 years and always been with Bangkok Bank, this is now no longer possible! 3 months ago, no problem but the banking rules now prevent this happening until it all changes again. -
