Former ICT minister Sitthichai Pokaiudom and TDRI researcher Somkiart Tangkijvanit will be among the witnesses today.

Goes around comes around.

Karma gonna get you in the end.

Seems this was being ignored when Alpine happened not the other way around.

The Alpine land was donated by the original owner to a Prachuabkhirikhan temple. The temple did not have money to pay for transfer fee and tax. They then sold it to Mr. Sanoh and keep the donation in cash up to present. Mr. Sanoh later sold it to XPM. Legality and the whole story is up to you to make fair consideration, and in line with the law, of course.

Khao Yai Thieng is a forest reserved area. A few pieces had been alloted to landless farmers and their inheritants. The deeds are not transferrable out of kin, or to be sold. Yet, The General wife bought it from her husband subordinate against the will of state. It amazed me how the deed ownership could be transfered form the first farmer to a Mr. Noppadol, to the chief of TV5, and finally to General's son without the Royal Forest Department verification. Do you think the General is really innocent? Meanwhile, landless farmers are being forced out from the area, and even faced encroachment charge.

I seriously only see 3 outcomes

a. the court case will have many " so called delays " due to lack of evidence and trying to find evidence and make thaksin sit and wait

b. thaksin is found guilty all of his money and assets are devolved to the state ( meaning we are going to have many so called ministries / people who are going to get lots of money put in their pocket ) I guarantee their will be no money actual used for anything useful to benefit the people of thailand

c. Thaksin is not found guilty on a few areas but this in turns overturns many cases and now that he is not guilty he will get his money and now that he has money guarantee UDD will run the government. And PAD will be back out protesting and thaksin will make sure many of these people have some untimely accidents. Now that he has money, he will go into power again and utimately make sure thailand is not a democracy but a dictorship. He will make sure thailand becomes the next burma / north korea / and his buddy from cambodia will make sure this happens.

I dont think he gives two hoots if he gets "his" money back.

his agenda here is far more sinister than that, all i can see is delay after delay, but who knows what dealings have been going on in the background.

He is playing this one out and wants it to run and run,the troops are rallying slowly but surely!

It will be interesting for sure. It is a lot of money so stakes are very high. If mr. Thaksin gets this money back there will not be peace in this country for a long time in my humble opinion. Yellow will get angry and it will start all over again. We farangs have no say in what is going on but I wish this country peace as it would produce a lot of prosperity.

Those angry guys on both sides make a lot of people afraid about the future course of this country. Khun Thaksin does not like a lot of people now who gave him hard time so if he gets his money he will seek revenge on his political enemies, I would be surprised if he didn't. So those who think he would are afraid and will try to make sure that he does not get his money back. This is a book definition of a power struggle.

Let there be peace!

You have to be kidding. That is all he cares about.

So......if he gets "his" money back he will be a happy man and we will not have or hear any of his rhetoric again?..........i personally think you are wrong.

Thaksin has no chance of getting this money back and he knows it,this has now become a huge tool for him and his advisors to further cause unrest and protests, this is just the beginning of a year of turmoil in this country.

Also i think we would all like to know where this money is delegated too and whom after the case eventually is over, that will take some explaining by the present powers that be,and give him even more fuel for the fire.

I am entitled to my opinion as sir/madam so are you :)

So the verdict is there yet or not? If so what is the rationale for taking another month and a half to read it? Verdict is verdict, isn't it?

bargaining time?

or just time for "negotiations"?

or a verdict at hand but it has tobe made watertight?

or, or, or.... we will see/hear/read, patience!

Or will he finally surrender, in a late stunt and rescue the country from the evil dictator ship, and free the suppressed

underdogs of this country!

Hey Robin, the avenger of the suppressed, and his flock of righteous men are back from Sherwood Forest soon!

....to be continued ...

This is worse than the shooting of JR.

A whole month to READ a verdict. Christ, the new Iphone doesn't come with this much expectation.

Prepare the armies? Wait for tourist high season to pass? I get the strong feeling the ruling is completely against Thaksin.

Each judge has to write down and present their reasons in public for for reaching the verdict they decide on.

Agreed.....but it also gives thaksin time also,i have this underlying feeling about Cambodia becoming more and more embroiled in the coming few months being used by both sides to appease the other all to the benefit of the people from P P.

Verdict on Thaksin's seized assets expected on February 26

By The Nation

The Supreme Court on Tuesday completed its inquiry into the Bt76 billion in impounded assets of fugitive ex-premier Thaksin Shinawatra and scheduled the verdict session on February 26 at 1.00 pm.

The high court instructed the defence and the prosecution to file their respective closing statements within 30 days.

In the final session of the inquiry, two witnesses testified about additional evidence on the telecom concessions as per the summonses of the high court. The additional testimonies were pertinent to the case but not included the list of witnesses submitted by the disputed parties.

Former Information and Communications Technology minister Suthichai Pokaiudom and telecom researcher Somkiart Tangkitwanit told the court about the conversion of concession fees to excise charges designed to benefit the telecom business which Thaksin's family had the controlling stakes.

The Thai army is likely well prepared, Thaksin needs time to drum up his minions.

This is a bit of a signal, a verdict is now in the time frame.

Yes get most of high season past, let the Justices a nice period to massage their verdicts

And no small amount of let Thaksin stew in his own juices a bit longer.

The longer the wait the more money he must spend to keep expectations and ferver

high enough to move when the time comes.

Expect a ramped up bunch of Pro Thaksin diatribes here, including several quick bans from attempted returnees,

and attempts to heckle anti-Thaksin types into making a slip and getting a ban.

Of course this will always mean that a bigger than expected rally is planned,

'The mother of all rallies, to beat all rallies, and bring down the government.'

And lately will also mean a smaller than advertised turnout will happen,

and paid shills will trumpet the numbers 10 times higher than actual.

So waza mate. Your theory is people want to emulate historical figures by virtue of having the same name as them?

I'd better tell my pal Elvis Wilson to start practising his pelvis wiggle then.

And as for Genghis Jones the milkman. My advice is don't complain that he didn't leave any gold top. :)
