Hi, I am up in CR tomorrow for work and will have time on my hand but don't have time to go to a book shop in Chiang Mai before I go. Can someone recommend me a good book shop for English language books? Second hand or new, either is fine. Thank you. Pim

Does anyone have a list of 2nd hand bookstores in Chiangrai and their addresses?

Please PM me if the info's not convenient to post here.

Much appreciate it.

Yes, I would also suggest Orn's Book Shop near Wat Jet Yot. Peter has a very good selection of English books, all well organized and categorized. As well as other languages, too. And, he will buy and sell, and also exchange books. Well worth a trip to see.

Hey Sao Jiang Mai,

Here's the link to the interactive Google map, that the CR members have created.

Started by member Svenivan, our hero!

Orn's Books is listed, and it is not very far from Da Vinci, which is also on the map.

Maximum 3 or 4 minute walk from Da Vinci's.

Hope this helps, and have a great visit in Chiang Rai.

Thanks so much, I shall head up there soon and check out these places. The Davinci restaurant one sounds the best bet as that is the only landmark I know!

There's a new book out this month, what some folk would call a "coffee table" book. Titled 'The Best of Chiang Rai.'

"Putting Chiang Rai on the map" they say and "removing it from the shadow of Chiang Mai."

Well, I'll stay right here in Chiang Mai.

Some nice photos (tho if I was one of the home owners featured with 1 or 2 postage stamp pics each I wouldn't agree), but mostly a lot of old stuff re-hashed.

Taught me something new about Doi Maesalong (only) and made me mildly curious to visit. But only next New Year for the blossom festival.

Leave this one on the shelves with the dust.
