Assuming you have a multi-entry 1 year visa (i.e. you have made border runs every 90 days), you will just need to do another border run before the actual expiry of the visa (use before date written on the actual visa).

On re-entry you will get another 90 days.

Assuming you have multiple entry visa, a border run is all you need to do before your VISA expires, and you will get new 90 day permission to stay on re-entry.

thanks for the info , yes i have multi b and do a run every 90 days , do you think immigration is more likely to give the xtension at the airport as opposed to say ranong ?? just i have heard people say they are only getting 2 weeks >>>>

You are not going to get an extension, you go out before the expiry date of your last visa stamp and return before the expiry date of your visa and you will get 90 days. What you are referring to is a different thing altogether and relates to people without visas. Your consideration should then focus on what to do in 3 months after April, presuming you still wish to remain in Thailand.

As long as your multiple entry Non-B visa is valid you will get a new 90 day permission to stay on re-entry, whether entry is by air or land crossing. You are referring to 'visa exempt' entry at land crossing, which applies to people who do not hold a visa.

This happens to people who have done their border run AFTER expiration of their visa.

Remember, depending on how long you got your visa before you first entered Thailand, you likely are allowed to stay longer (allowed to stay stamp) then the date your actual visa stamp is valid for.

Do remember to check the date on the actual non immigrant visa sticker. It'll say "utilize before". It is before that date you'll have to do your final border run.
