Second Hand Notebook Adaptor

Are there any safety concerns when buying a second hand (or a copy of) a notebook adaptor ?

Never bought a copy myself only genuine ones. A mate bought one for his phone and it exploded. If you do buy a copy keep a watch on it not getting to hot.

Instead of 4000 baht for an Apple charger I bought one for 130 baht.

6 months later running sweetly.

ps In case you think I'm a cheapskate 6 months ago I also taped a 10 baht coin inside an iBook case to keep pressure on a video chip which had desoldered itself resulting in no screen.

Still sweet!
