Marui
Any latest updates? Shall we do at Arsenal or Arena 10?
damaja
Ok, so according to email discussion, no footy tonight. But, we at least are set on day and time for next week? Then we can just set about recruiting enough for next week between now and then, right?: Wednesday 26th, 8pm – 9pm. At Arsenal pitch? [or Arena 10?] And we can assume all that were up for playing this Wed. will also be in for next (plus myself)? Anyone in the list not able to make it next Wed.?: - damaja - beejoir - Dredi - Groovetank - Anthony - marui - SiP - FlaxxChris - BBBB - Emanuel And, naturally, anyone else that is up for next week, please say sooner rather than later... damaja
Quick reminder/confirmation for tomorrow's footy... After last week's bumper turnout of 22, one would hope we'll have a good turnout this week also. Having said that, I've come to the conclusion that there is a certain quantity that there's just difficulty optimising - 20, 22 and 23 in particular. 24 or over means we can comfortably split onto two pitches, but I think last week demonstrated, any less than 24, it's not worth it. 12-21 means we have multiple teams of 6 to rotate (with extra subs rotating ad hoc or as part of a 'team' of 7). But, 22 and 23 are bloody tricky numbers, as we have too many sitting out if we are doing teams of 6 and not really enough to split onto 2 pitches without losing out on something - e.g. one side has 5 vs. 5 which is crap on these pitches. Or, just 1 or 2 injuries and it's screwed on at least 1 pitch, but we all still have to pay for 2 pitches. I think next time we get 22 or 23, we should just stick to the one pitch, split into teams of 6 but with subs overlapping, and then extend the time another hour for any that want to. Ok, lets see then what tomorrow brings ... When: Sunday 23rd January Time: ** 4pm - 6pm ** at: Arsenal Soccer School, 17/1 Soi Pridi Banomyong 21, Sukhumvit 71 Rd., Phrakhanong, Bangkok 10110 Telephone: 02-711-1221 Google maps link with directions from Prakhanong BTS: http://bit.ly/bqhnTR Cost: 1500 bht /hr (200 - 300 bht each) As always, it'd be great if you can find the time to post a reply here on theThaiVisa forum whether ucan/can't make it, please. *NOT BY EMAIL UNLESS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY, PLEASE* (got complaint from some on the email list) Cheers, & see u Sunday. lpk
my thoughts exactly, sir adam... 24, we go for a 2nd pitch less than 24, we stick to 3 or 4 teams. we can have 1 guy each from the first 3 teams to make up 6 for the 4th team as well. yes, we do 3 hours when we have 4 teams winner based on the final score after 7 mins. a draw will see both teams eliminated in the event if we have 4 teams. and i dont see the reason why the winning team cannot keep staying to play if they keep winning if there is a team without a regular goalie, the goalkeeping role should be rotated among the players of a team after each goal (ours' or oppositions') without question. just sharing my past experience... keong i am in for tomorrow, by the way... damaja
Guys, any news about footy tomorrow evening? If there is, shall we do at Arena 10? Ok, I tried to get a booking at Arena 10 but it's fully booked all tomorrow evening. And Arsenal is fully booked until 9pm, so I've made a booking at 9pm. Hope that's not too late for some people (though I'm sure it'll be better for some)... So, at last count, I'm assuming the following will be able to come: - damaja - beejoir - Dredi - Groovetank - Anthony - marui - SiP - FlaxxChris - BBBB - Emanuel - Jack - Adam Did I forget anyone? Any more? Edited January 25, 2011 by damaja

damaja
Quick reminder/confirmation for tomorrow's footy... We had a decent session on Wednesday, by theway, with 12 turning up and a pretty evenly-matched game for an hour and ahalf. I've booked again for this next Wednesday, currently timed the same as last week – 9pm – as there was no available slotsearlier; but I'll check again to see if can get an 8pm slot. More players are welcome. Ok, as for tomorrow... bring it ONNnnn-ahh !...
