As the missus has had her netbook nicked I am looking for a smaller lappy or another netbook for her.

Selection locally is a bit all over the map, with unknown ages of display models and I havent been looking at new ranges for a bit so am just trying to catch up.

Is there a good Thai mail order site so I can get handle on Thai pricing of various models. Thanni only has a couple of EEE models.

Acer 531 appeals..

I bought (2) Acer One's with the 6 cell battery and have been nothing but impressed

Running licensed Windows XP Pro that came with it

I use the latest MS Office Suite with no problems

Perfect for Skype video chat as it has built in microphone and webcam

This is honestly one of the very few things I have bought here that has passed the test

I paid 12,000 thb for each at Zeer Rangsit

Since the netbook does not come with a CD/DVD rom drive I bought one of those from Acer for 2,200 mainly to load programs

invadeIT

shop4thai

two of the bigger sites

I bought a Netbook recently from invadeIT. I was very satisfied with their very fast and reliable service.

My goods arrived in time properly packed and shipped and delivered to my door.

Bought a HDD from them as well.

LOS, I bought a web book in Big C last week. Cost 15,900 baht. Quite a good spec. Genuine window 7 starter. Good review.

Only downside is the 1 meg memory. But it's fine if just for browsing. Great battery life, 6 hours.

Hopefully not the exact model reviewed in that link? The N270 processor model is no longer being made and so the prices have dropped quite a bit. If it was the N280 model then the price is fine.

Thats of the same sizes as the 531 model (531 touch higher spec) and was what had caught my eye transiting an airport..

But looking today the 11.6 inch LED screened 1410 (1810 also) line aspires were superb ergonomics.. Hair larger than the mini netbooks, but great screens and keyboards (my old minor gripes of the last aspire one) but still mini machines..

Wondering about the 1.3 mhz dual core in it.. The 1810 series with the 1.4ghz core 2 solo probably getting above what I want to spend on a netbook.

Quite right, it was the N280 I bought. So far I'm quite happy with it..
