call me naieve but is it true there are no visa fees in the uk for a period?

I'm going back next month for a new non imm 'o' - is that free

The current MFA promotion relates to the free issue of single entry tourist visas only, and has recently been extended to the end of the year.

And even they are not free at some UK honorary consulates as they have a service charge now.

Still have to pay for a non-o, 105 pounds for a multi at Birmingham to pick up in person last month.

Tourist visas are free but attract an admin charge at the Consulates, not sure about the Embassy in London.
