I have 3MB/512 3BB Internet in Pattaya. I have used Emule for about 7 mo at 150-300kb most all the time.... then only at night... now never over 15kb and low ID! Most times nothing at all.

I have since tried a static IP in Windows XP.

Forwarded the ports in the router.

Changed the port numbers and forwarded the new port numbers.

Uninstalled Emule and reinstalled from scratch.

After all that I have no change.

IS there anyone in Pattaya that would be willing to get this working for me again? Or can show me another P2P to use to DL movies and TV programs?

Please I am going crazy... I am willing to pay for someones time to fix this!

I never got any of the torrent clients to work here reliably. I just use my browser now. Just click on downloading the torrent file and tell Opera to open it. Point to where you want it the files saved and it will download in the background whilst you can keep on surfing.

Hi there,

I have applied for 3BB internet as they said it's 3MB, since 13 Nov 2009, I paid the 1st month, and I started experiencing very low speed, disconnect frequrntly (many times) some days have no connection at all for 2 or 3 hours.. !! I was using true internet and honestly have never experienced this, it was a terrible experience indeed .. !!! it was horrible and taking me to be carzy indeed.!! shouting at my PC all the time..

and the worst, when I tried to call their call center (1530) they never and ever picked up at any time, eening, day, midnight etc,

I sent lot of emails and I have test speed records also I sent them the links and the photos with the IP and time and ping point.. all details, but they never get back or send any response to me,

I went few times to the shop where I applied, she called her manage she told me we are sorry about this, and will improve service, this is the 1st month .. !!

then they sent me the second bill, I paid it, and passed my new year in a hectic hot temper carzy brain, since i am internet daily user, i can do nothing without it, all time I have to renew and refresh my IP dozens of times and sometimes restart my PC as well, and get speed (100Kbps - 600Kbps) I have the records untill now

finally I told them I am going to cancel my contract, the manager told me we have contract for 1 year if I cancel i have to pay them more than 4000 Bht as penalty.. !!

I told her ur company didnt provide me as they stated in the contract and wasted my time and no any customer service, what should I do now? in another country they have to pay back a penalty to customer of this careless, negletful service,

anyhow, I just completed the 2nd month to fit my payments that I did, and I managed to apply for Braod Band internet, it's connected by Cable TV and the price at the same rate 590 Bht + 7% will be around 631bht in total, same as the 3BB but the speed is much much great, it's really wondeful in comparision

FINALLY: I printed all the test speed sheets and took their router and went to the branch in BKK where I applied and cancelled the contract, I expected the head office will call or ask what about or any.. but they never, bcause they got the evidences and they knew their service quality too

I do advise you to apply for the broad band internet, it's a new service in Thailand using cable TV connection modem,

I am really enjoying it now, it's wonderful and I can watch TV online as usual when I was using True, but much better even than True. and faster (as per the limit i paid for) .. and never disconnect.. stable connection,

NOTICE: If anyone working for or related to (maxnet 3BB company), they may think I am saying fake information or destroying their reputation in the market,

(I do challenge anyone) and I have the proves of my words, and I am typing here to share my personnal experiences to benefit others, as I am benefiting form the experiences of others everyday from this web boad,

and final point: my details are kept with Thaivisa forum, if any representative from the so called 3BB willing to verify how true is this. He/She very wlecome, becaus I am sure they knew it's true and they won't even care to look after people complaints as they did with me,

I hope this will be helpful for everyone. any in-depth inquiries, Thaivisa forum staff will inform me and I will furnish to supply the required details to improve what i have said in above.

Good luck.

Regards

Check this out <snip>

It's easy to setup and works miracles in bypassing firewalls and other restrictions.

If you use the freeware version, d/l speed is limited to 64k/s, but you if pay for full version, it has no limit

edit: even though proxies are generally legal, as to my understanding they are not allowed to be used for downloads.

This is usually a port issue.

Just to clarify, it was all working fine, and stopped suddenly, of its own accord?

ie. No new software installed, no cables changed, no router settings changed etc before it stopped working?

If no to the above, has your ISP starting blocking/filtering traffic on certain ports or within certain ranges?

Other than that, here is a couple of other P2P programs to try (Tried to add links but said I couldn`t, so Google them :) )

U-Torrent

Direct Connect (DC++)

I don`t use P2P anymore, I use newsgroups now and could never go back to P2P due to the speed and amount of viruses and fake files.

However, newsgroups arent free.

HTH.

edit: Bit strange you can`t post URL yet there is an add link button in the reply tools?

I definitely agree with comments on Newsgroups. However, the service isn't free. Being a heavy torrent user, I can't say I've come across many fakes or viruses though.

I think there's a forum requirement where new members need to attain a certain number posts before being allowed to post links.

You'll be able to do after you've made 10 posts.

I think Emule gets more and more a thing of the past. Check that you have updated the server list.

There are others like Shareaza. Try them. Think about torrents.

In respect of low ID switch off the firewall and look if it is the same. Just took of the dust of my old Emule for you since I do not use it anymore - both arrows green. Ports 4662/4672 and UPnP enabled. Special settings in the firewall. This all with 3BB - your ISP.

Thanks for checking on your emule there! I do update my server list. I tried Frostwire and Limewire in the past but they had much much fewer files I was looking for. I would consider another P2P like I said, but I would need someone to show me. I have spent many days and frustrating hour upon hour trying to fix the emule and then trying to learn and setup utorrent, opera and others to no avail. (Could not get them to DL either but all said connected) There has to be a setting in my router or computer that is wrong but I cannot find it.

FYI I opened emule again with both the windows firewall off and the router firewall off. Uploads continually connect and then quickly disconnect. Total downloads are 2kb on and off. It shows High ID and Open Kad....

I APPRECIATE ALL HELP! Any suggestions on a professional for this I can hire in Pattaya???

NOTE: I ran across a note saying I may have "web only" access somehow.... anyone know how to check this?

Just as a quick check, remove the router from the equation and plug the modem directly into the PC.

If this sorts the problem then its a setting in your router (port forwarding, firewall etc).

Thanks for the heads upon the link posting :)

Thanks for the response!!!

I am not familiar with this.... I have a phone line plugged into my router then a LAN line from the router to the PC (It's not WiFi). How would I get internet service without the router?

You can't.

Some people are still using a simple ADSL modem attached to a router, in which case the above advice might help solve the problem.

Your device is basically an all in one!

I have no problems with emule, but using maxnet Premier, never changed to the 3BB contracts...

Here you write you have High ID and before not. Are both arrows green at the globe when you look at Emule?

You write that you have interrupts when you transfer data. How is your line quality? You can see this in your modem.

What modem do you have?

Are you sure that not anything else is sharing the bandwidth - like trojans?

But in respect of download speed - I have torrents that run with full speed and I have torrents where it takes more than a week to download. This is not so much a firewall problem. Bad people (like me) limit their upload speed as much as possible and focus mainly on the downloads. And then it depends on how many people provide the source and how many download. Will be always different.

It is showing High ID now but the same actions happening.

How do I check line quality? (My internet runs perfect and fast)

I have a Huwaei SmartAX MT880... firewall disabled and UpNP is enabled... also ports show forwarded and open but port check in Emule says TCP cannot be reached.

How do I check if there is a trojan? I have run AVG and AntiMaleware and found 0 infections.

My downloads have hundreds of sources and my uploads are set at 31kb but uploads just connect and disconnect never getting above 8kb...

I know I am missing something.... what can it be?

OK, sorry my last post might have confused you, I assumed you had a modem going into a seperate router - my bad!

If Emule is reporting TCP cannot be reached then that is the problem for the LowID.

I`m now assuming again (hehe) that your router handles the IP Addresses using DHCP...(automatically assigning them)

If so, what address are you forwarding your ports to?

This should be the IP Address of your computer, but using DHCP means your PC might have been assigned a different address when you have rebooted/restarted the computer.

Check the IP your computer currently has, against the one you are forwarding to - are they the same?

Using DHCP can give you a new address each time as I said, and if this is the problem then to solve it , assign your computer a static address in the same range, and set the "Default Gateway" to the IP of your router.

eg.

Router IP: 192.168.0.254

Static IP: 192.168.0.100

Def Gateway: 192.168.0.254

If this is confusing holler and I`ll try guide you through it in more detail, but for now just check the IP your computer has against the IP your forwarding the Emule ports to.
