January 27, 201016 yr Do these terms indicate a toll road on maps? Is there a difference in the terms? The road in question is #3 south of Bangkok the other part is the bridge finished?
January 27, 201016 yr Ray, #3 is neither a motorway or a tollway. It is a crowded dual carriageway or divided (sometimes) Hwy in US. As far as i know there is only one "motorway" that is #7. Not sure but the "motorway" is a government road (still toll) and the "tollways' are privately run. Some local sections of the "motorway" can be negotiated without paying a toll but motorbikes are still verboten. None of the new major bridges over the river are motorcycle friendly. The only road in that category that is bike friendly, but the traffic is not, would be the western Outer Ring #9. untill it gets to Rama II then it becomes a toll road. But that is also neither a tollway or a motorway. Confusing isn't it? Edited January 27, 201016 yr by VocalNeal
