Just seen on the news (Tan) that folks needing passport renewals will need to apply through Hong Kong vice BBK embassey. All persons needing this type service may want to contact the embassey on new procedures...

They will have to be sent to Hong Kong for processing but the same 10 day waiting period is expected to remain from what I have read.

Certainly no change on the embassy website http://ukinthailand.fco.gov.uk/en/passport...ing-in-thailand

I'm not sure how this would change the process anyway, you still apply in BKK and it still costs stupid money and takes 10 working days.

You're lucky :)

Belgian 64 page, 5 year validity passport costs 240 Euro (abt 11,000 Baht).

I have a British Passport renewal in the pipeline, via the Consulate in Chiang Mai. They quote a waiting time of 3 weeks. Current cost is 7521 Baht.
