I'm considering taking Metformin for off label reasons
Sheryl, I do have a question for you as a medical professional. In the west now given that the off label benefits of metformin are not as you say really proven, do you think doctors there would usually accept a patient that wants to try it anyway for off label reasons and support that medically with screening, or would they usually just get all huffy and say don't do that, that's stupid or even dangerous? -

Toyota’s hidden engine has been unveiled
And what idiot would want that. The smooth, quiet, better performance is the only thing I notice, between the ICEV & BEV version of our MG ZS, as I owned both. Aside from the high savings of energizing, I don't need to worry about the extra 2000+ parts of an ICE failing. ICEV will never perform better than a BEV. So Toyota is simply keeping up with the POS H cars in the USA, that has virtually no fueling station network. Why Toyota's profits & market share, will continue to drop. -

Accident Driver Bends to Pick Up Item, Causes Fatal Bangkok Crash
Pictures courtesy of SiamNews A 28-year-old woman who was just a month away from her wedding has died in a road crash in Thung Khru district, Bangkok, after a car crossed into her lane and struck her motorcycle head-on. The incident occurred on 14 August along Pracha Uthit 60 Alley. Police from Thung Khru Station and Ruamkatanyu Foundation volunteers arrived to find Ms. Apinya, lying face down on the roadside with severe injuries. Medics administered CPR and called for an Erawan emergency unit, but she succumbed to her wounds shortly afterwards. Her Yamaha Grand Filano scooter was found around 20 metres from her body, badly damaged and lying on its side. Nearby, a black Honda City, registration from Bangkok, had crashed into a village wall, its front bumper and windscreen shattered. The driver, 24-year-old Mr. Worawut, was visibly shaken and pale. He told police that he had been driving towards the main road when he dropped an object inside the car. As he bent down to retrieve it, the vehicle veered across the centre line, directly into the path of the victim’s motorcycle, before crashing into the wall. Dashcam footage confirmed the sequence of events, showing the Honda losing control, hitting the oncoming motorcycle and coming to rest against the wall. Mr. Somjai, 56, the victim’s father, tearfully revealed that his daughter had been living nearby with her fiancé and was due to marry. “The invitations were already sent, the banquet was booked. We were just waiting for the day,” he said. Police have sent the body for a full forensic examination and questioned the driver in detail at Thung Khru Police Station. Legal proceedings will follow in accordance with the law. Adapted by Asean Now from SiamNews 2025-08-16 -
