halfhead
Its a good service,I used it fom C Rai to Samui(around 2 weeks and cost 3000 if I remember correctly) the only problem was getting the parcel tape off the saddle but you could put a cover on that yourself, make sure the bike is taxed etc.
JusMe
I bought my Nouvo from a dealer in Bangkok and didn't want to drive around the big city, so had them ship it through the post office to the post office in Ban Phe (Rayong province). Arrived fine and the post office phoned to say it was there. Drove home!
wjmark
Sent a small bike CM to Koh Pangan 2300bt (500bt island surcharge incl). Sent it back to CM from Chumporn for 1800bt. Also my girlfriend mails her Wave around Thailand all the time - no problem. Just wheel it into the P.O., leave the key in the bike. Take your registration with you. Fill out the forms, pay the bill. Way less than a week in our experience... ps - Bigger bikes cost more Edited February 3, 2010 by wjmark

GungaDin
Thank you. So, how does the PO prepare the bike, or don't they, just centre stand all the way and a lot of TLC?

Powerband
In contrast bkk-chiang mai by train was 1200 baht. PO is much better.
mixed
In contrast bkk-chiang mai by train was 1200 baht. PO is much better. For shipping to CM there is an overnight service that probably only costs a few hundred Baht. The company is Nimseng, located in the fruit market near Bobe. The deal is they send trucks with fruit and vegies daily from CM, rather than have the trucks go home empty they transport good back at a very cheap rate. We send large boxes all the time, very reliable.

prepress
John, the Bo Bae Market is near "Prince Palast Hotel". The coordinates are about "13.756268,100.518637". It is right next to the railway line. I am just working very close to that area. Interesting, I was also looking for transport options to Chang Mai or other areas. And the solution is right next door. I will check it out next week. Helmut
jonwilly
The Thai gent who maintains my bikes get second hand stock sent up from the dealers he does business with in Bangkok by the bus service. BKK dealer strips bikes down, packs in strong Cardboard, usually old cartons and boxes, sends them up on BKK-CM bus as cargo in lower 'Hold'. My friend is advised by mobile that items have left and local bus company call to confirm arrival. john

Same at the destination, needs a little planning, but can be done. Cover the bike with a sheet or tarp. Make sure that there is very little gas in the tank as it can flood out owing to the angle of attack when lifting onto the back of the truck. Without a ramp. Atmos
Used Thai Post in April 2010 to move a Yamaha Fino from Phuket to Sa Kaeo province Fees may have changed but at that time it was 1900 baht plus 100 baht for packaging - and they did a good job, took mirrors off (stored under seat) , wrapped my helmet and taped to the bike. As we sent it a few days pre-Songkran expected a long delay but got a call from SK PO (they won't deliver, we were another 50+ kms away) to collect about 10 days later. Once he'd confirmed I was owner/had my part of the aperwork he removed all the bubble-wrap, even started it up for me. I sent a triathlon/racing bicycle at the same time, 1000 baht and it arrived undamaged a couple of days before the Fino, along with 8 cartons of household items, all arrived intact. No complaints from me.

Leckyman
Send the docs (& keys) seperately to the bike. I have done it a couple of times, you need to be a bit trusting with this... It worked out well for me tho'.
