2 Year UK Settlement Visa Question

Featured Replies

Hello, hope this doesn,t sound like to much of a knoob question. In the supported docs list for this visa it says i need to provide a certified copy of spouse/civil partners passport. Does all this mean i have to sign and date a copy or is there more to it than that. Do i have to get someone in authority to certify it. :)

Would probably need an embassy certification if in Bangkok or if in home country notarization would suffice.

That was new to me.

I got my Natwest business bank manager to sign a photocopy of my passport.

VFS accepted this 2 days ago.

You just copy each page of your passport then sign and date the copies yourself, you don't need anybody else to certify them for you. :) .

I just photo copied mine and my wifes , I do not think you have to get them certified now ,

You don't say which country she is applying to. The following assumes it is the UK. Other countries may be different.

Copy each page, including the blanks, and then write on each page "I certify that this is a true copy of page x of passport number........, signed, print name."

If you are in Bangkok when she hands in the application, then she can give the VAC the original of your passport and they will copy it, certify the copies and give the original back to her.
