What's "Amerenglish?(sic)"? :D

answer : the reason for a spell-checker(I'm glad someone spotted the deliberate mistake ,that's my excuse anyway) :o

Sorry to only answer half of your question; sic, used to indicate a quoted passage or word ,especially one containing an error or unconventional spelling, has been quoted in its original form or written intentionally :D

I'm familiar with "sic", roscoe - it's the original post with "Amerenglish" - I'm not with you there, buddy! :D

Spoken in a very sardonic manner by Jeremy Paxman on News Night;

""Amerenglish"?Well I suppose it's slightly more self descriptive than some words I have encountered!

Where he encountered it I know not. :D

(I will endeavour to find out)

If you use Mac OS/X it has a system-wide spell-checker that you can activate in any properly written application. Checks spelling as you type.

It flagged this: "colour" as misspelled!

:o

...I assume you can correct it's Amerenglish so that it knows better next time...?

:D

It also flagged endeavour as a vairient of endeavor .Cheek. :D

Only the language of love is universal

Not if it's got a "u" in it apparently :D .

It would also change the spelling of that wellknown brand <deleted> to the same as the word it is not supposed to resemble? :o

I wish I could find a translation site (like babelfish) from Thai to English  as most of the business websites in Thailand don't have English versions.

Where have you been? :o

Have a look here: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=32659

and here: http://www.thai2english.com

and here: http://www.thai-language.com

Not what i'm looking for as it doesn't help with translating a biz or forum type of website so really serves no good to me. I guess Thai business people just don't want to do biz, sad isn't it.
