I have looked at all the name brand trucks, a lot of nice ones, top models etc. etc. all 4 door 4x4 models.

I would like to buy the 2010 Toyota Vigo, just because I like it more. (sheep mentality, bla bla bla bla sh*t) I just like it more.

Just wondering if anyone has one yet and the deal they got, down payment, financing, discounts, freebies, etc. and if they are EXACTLY like the 2009

models for the 4 door, 4x4 G model. As far as I can tell, they're the same. I am aware of the changes made in late 2008 to the "new" 2009 models and I

was told the 2010 models are the same.

thanks for any onfo...........

new turbo, VN Turbo since November 2009, as 2010 models

except for that, seems identical. My 4x4 4 3,0 auto 4 door G was delivered Nov 2009, but is being reg as 2010

In November I got

Insurance, bunch of stuff free like reverse sensors, lamina, wind deflectors, carpets

down 25% interest 2,75%

15 k cash discount (on downpayment)

2 friends have just ordered same here in Phuket. Interest is now 2,25% but like 40k less discount/freebies

Nissan Navara was second choise, but choosing this Vigo is not beeing sheep, its just the best around

Well, here's the deal I got on a 2010 Toyota Vigo 3.0 4x4, 4 door, auto, (G). I had also been in contact with Tim, from expat motors who was a big help and said he would have charged roughly the same.

I went to the Toyota shop on the 4th floor at Central Dept. store, Rama3, from Khun Mam, yes I can speak Thai and yes she can speak English.

Khun Mam said about 3 to 5 weeks delivery because I wanted the tan/gold color, and a lot sooner if I wanted to take a black or silver truck, and to put on the extras and the carryboy top.

She said they don't sell many 4 door, 4x4r, auto,g, grade trucks, but a lot of standard gear prerunners and that the 4x4 , 4 door auto was the no.1 stolen vehicle in Thailand, bar none, and that if people can't make the payments thay will sell it underground and it will be driven to Cambodia and then the owner will report it stolen to get out of paying for it. So, I didn't need a guartantor, but they still wanted a copy of my gf's tambian bahn ( home registry).

Anyway, here's the deal I got, and it seems ok to me, I don't feel it's a great deal, but I don't feel I got ripped off either, kinda ok:

truck is 958k, 35% down, 2.35% financing over 30 months. 8,500b for registration fee, 645.b compulsory ins., 2,500 deposit for red plates to be returned when the white plates arrive.

So she rounded it to 340k down plus 11,645b reg.,ins, red platel, total 351,645 down, minus 5000 baht deposit to begin the whole show, = 346,645 down. Finished.

Then, 21,811b a month for 30 months= 654,330 from the balance of 618,000, so interest paid over 30 months is 36,330b

She said she had 40k for extras to play with, so I could take a 40K discount and get the basic truck with no extras and find my own insurance and do the

reg. and all the paperwork myself, and after adding it all up, would definately be over 40 k, so I took option no. 2 which was

for "free" she added:

1 year good coverage insurance for 1 year, she said it was worth about 22k, (I looked at the policy and it was good)

Toyota bed liner

lie mai (wooden looking plastic (I think it's plastic)veneer covers on the dash, console, doors arm rests etc.)

lic.plate frames

tinted window film on all windows

side rain visors on the outside of the doors to cover the windows

floor mats

undercoating, 2,500 extra from me

and I also ordered a carryboy top for it through her that she said would be at least 2000 baht less than if I got it from carryboy, which I told her I called them and was quoted 23,000b myself. Plust it would be painted and fitted better if under dealer care. So I'm guessing 21k for it on top, it's the 840 model.

Also I asked Khun Mam and Tim if it would be better to wait for the Bkk Inter. motor show coming on the 26th of next month to buy it, both said no, because the prices would be the same, just

configured a thousand different ways, but would still be the same ending price, and the wait would increase to 3 to 5 months, while trucks are waiting to have the extras put on.

My wife and I went to a dealership in Chiang Mai today (the one on 107, the Mae Rim Road). We discussed buying the Vigo Smart Cab 4 x 2 2.5L MT with ABS (but no air bags) for 679,000.

The salesperson offered :

front nudbe bar and back bumper (chrome)

License plate

vehicle tax (one year)

insurance (one year)

bed liner

Film on windows

Side visors

I don't know if the nudge bar is an extra or not but with all that cheap plastic dressing the front end I'm glad to have it. We're going back tomorrow to test drive it. In the meantime we've decided to get 4 x 4. I hope the same package is available + the 33,000 for 4 x 4.

KataBB - Reverse sensors sound good. Will ask tomorrow.

If we put 25% the 48 month rate will be 2.90%. I'll hold the remaining cash in gold and sell it as needed to pay the loan. That should easily pay for the interest and then some. Thanks for the thread everyone.
