We have travelled before with Thai ,EVA and Qatar ,question is whats the airline like any good? (Economy class) that is,also my wife is a thai ,does she require a visa when she lands in abu dhabi for the connection to bkk, also whats the deal with the baby's milk will they let us board with it in powder form or....this is new to us as we have never travelled with the babe before ,

thanks in advance

Good airline, ranked pretty high.

Rank / Airlines

  1. Cathay Pacific Airways
  2. Singapore Airlines
  3. Asiana Airlines
  4. Qatar Airways
  5. Emirates Airline
  6. Qantas
  7. Etihad Airways
  8. Air New Zealand
  9. Malaysia Airlines
  10. Thai Airways

No visa reqired for Abu Dhabi unless you leave the airport.

To the best of my knowledge you are allowed to carry on board sufficient baby formula to last the flight.

I did see one instance where a father was asked to taste the formula!!!!!!!!

Yep. Did it last year. A good flight.

Just flew with them on February 10th to UK and i must say it was a great flight and fantastic service you have nothing to worry about in fact i'm looking forward to the return journey.

Food & seat-back entertainment slightly better than Qatar, IMO. Don't forget to book a baby-cot !

No need for any visa for the UAE, as you remain in-transit in Abu Dhabi, just like with Qatar via Doha. :)

i think its the best airline i been on cabin creware real help full i like the midway break and get your duty free there much cheaper and they give you how much you want over your duty free limit but beware in thailand if you have to much they will bring you to court and fine you better over load on duty free there on return flight to europe and top movies inflight and there ok with the drink cart onboard meals ok.hope this helps

Etihad is an excellent airline. I fly them a few times a year to Saudi Arabia.

Service is really good.

You don't get limited to 2 beers as Qantas.

No bad attitude as B"stard" Airways.

You are not ordered to sleep by SS matrons as in Lufthansa.

yeah...good to remember as the nipper can then sleep comfortably and they then give you a bulkhead seat with more leg room in economy...no visa worries unless you leave the transit area of the airport...

word of advice...the AD airport is not comfortable for a long layover so look into paying a bit extra for 'transit lounge' privileges when traveling with an infant if not included in the fare...I have experienced delays with Etihad both in BKK and in AD but I won't go into that...
