Samsung Lcd Monitor

Featured Replies

I have a couple of Samsung P2250 flat screens that I use simultaneously in the office. These were both purchased new within the last 4 months. They have a touch-sensitive power and menu switch on the front lower bezel and one of these has gone 'insensitive' in that I can only turn power on and off by pulling the power cord out. It also means I can't access the LCD setup menus either.

Does anyone have any experience with Samsung's local warranty repair/replacement capabilities in Thailand? It's defo NOT a 'open the case and fix yourself' type job as there's no mechanical parts, just the touch sensitive bezel.

Cheers!

Where did you buy it? Does it have any distributor sticker on it? Synnex, Ingram Micro, SiS or Hardware House?

Either go to the shop where you bought it and get them to send it to the Samsung repair or to the distributor. You can also go directly to the distributor, especially Synnex has excellent after-sales service. You can bring any product with a valid Synnex sticker on it to any one of their offices around Thailand.

The one that has the dodgy button I bought at PowerBuy. The last time I took a Phillips stero back to them for warranty repair, it took 7 months!

Samsung are normally very good at repairs, they may even send an Engineer round to your home. Best to contact Powerbuy and see what they say first.

I may try that but won't rely on their service if it's going to take half a year. I just checked out the Samsung/TH website (which didn't have an English option!) and reckon I will call their toll-free service number first. Their support pages do pull up a list of what is and isn't covered (in English) and it says power buttons aint included! Maybe that's a regular mechanical button whereas this is a 'software' switch.
