Tuk Tuks And Beach Chairs In Phuket

Featured Replies

What group or individual owns operates these businesses (tuk tuks and beach chairs in Phuket)

Seems like these business are run at the public expense using public land as private business.

Tuk tuks: Mafia.

Beach chairs: Germans.

I hardly believe that any foreigner would be allowed to run this kind of business!

Lounge chair mafia and yes they are thai! :)

A sense of humour lapse! :)

Did you not pick up on the sarcasm ?

The other nations always say the Germans steal beach chairs or monopolise them. Germans say the same ect ect.

If only the Germans on Patong beach would stay in their chairs. All those bulging bellies and the men in thongs with their buttocks exposed. The women with their sagging mammaries swinging in the wind....... :D

I think the good looking Germans gravitate to Karon. Always a bit of eye candy. Not that I sit and drool, I mean stare. Umm nevermind. :)

Oh the horror!!! :D

The amount of wrinkled, aging Euro flesh on display at Patong bench is enough to put you off your lunch... Especially the older ladies who have been out in the sun so long that their flesh appears more reptile-like than human.

I was there a few weeks ago and there were more than enough beach chairs to go around as there were very few tourists on the beach.

MAFIA.

Influential people together with administrative officials from div. departments and the police!?

If they woud like to change something, they coud do it tomorrow.

But there are still places in Thailand, not far from Phuket, where you can use beach chairs and umbrellas for free!

(you have to consume nothing! :) ) ...but/and a big bottle Chang will cost between 50-60 Bath. :D

:D:D:D KO LANTA :D:D:D

Umm, you're in Patong to go to the beach? Really? There are much nicer places on Phuket island to go to the beach, no tuk tuks either...

There is a hotel on Patong beach, about 8000 baht per night and their customers have to pay to sit on the beach directly outside the hotel.

There doesn't even look like there is a choice on Patong. There's hardly any room to lay out your own towel if you wanted to.

I think Phuket is run by mafia and it puts money into all the top dogs pockets, right to the very top.

In which case, things will never change because there is just too much bread involved. There are nearly a thousand tuk tuks in Phuket, if every one only had to pay 1000 baht rent per month, that rakes in 1 million. Add to that the beach chairs and bars staying open late etc. you get a picture of how lucrative the top jobs are.

No wonder the BiB pay for their positions.... :)
