Crime Ten Women Arrested in Nationwide ‘FWFans’ Sex Trafficking Network Bust
Picture courtesy of ThaiRath. Cybercrime police have arrested ten women in connection with a large-scale online prostitution network operating under the guise of a dating website. The platform, known as “FWFans,” was allegedly a front for arranging sexual services across more than 150 locations nationwide, with over 2,000 women, both Thai and foreign, advertised to clients. The arrests were made following coordinated raids at two separate locations in Pathum Thani and Nonthaburi provinces, as part of a broader investigation into the online platform originally known as “FIWFans” or “Feel Fan.” The platform falsely presented itself as a site for finding romantic partners, companions, or massage services, but was in fact facilitating the commercial sex trade. Police say the operation was run through a well-structured network involving agents who took a 40% commission on every transaction. The website reportedly hosted dozens of profiles featuring images of women offering “sideline” services, and was connected to a larger network through the LINE messaging app and a Telegram group also named “FWFans.” Undercover officers posing as customers confirmed the sale of sexual services, with prices ranging from 1,300 to 5,000 baht for a 40-minute session. Investigators estimate that over the past two months alone, the operation generated more than 10 million baht in revenue. At the press conference held at the Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB) on 3 May, Police Lieutenant General Trirong Piwpan, Commissioner of the CCIB, stated that the case originated from earlier efforts by the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Division. Though the original “FIWFans” site was previously shut down, the network allegedly re-emerged under a new URL as “FWFans,” continuing the same illicit activities under a different name. The first raid, carried out in Nonthaburi’s Rattanathibet area, led to the arrest of six women, five Thai nationals and one Laotian, at an apartment complex near Phra Nang Klao Bridge. The second operation took place at a hotel residence in Lam Luk Ka, Pathum Thani, where four more suspects were apprehended, including another Laotian national. Authorities seized 13 mobile phones, a large quantity of condoms, and lubricant from both locations. All ten suspects reportedly admitted to voluntarily engaging in the work without coercion. The women now face charges under Thai law for advertising, soliciting, or facilitating prostitution through printed or digital media, and promoting sexual services to the public. Investigations into the broader network are ongoing, as police aim to identify the agents, website administrators, and financial channels involved in the illicit operation. Officials emphasise that while the suspects claim to have acted willingly, the platform’s structure and widespread reach raise serious concerns about human trafficking and exploitation. Accident Black Box Removed from Police Aircraft Crash in Cha-am, Sent to Canada for Analysis

Authorities have successfully removed the black box from the wreckage of the Royal Thai Police’s light aircraft that tragically crashed into the sea off Cha-am, claiming the lives of all six personnel on board. The flight data and cockpit voice recorders are now being sent to Canada for forensic examination. The fatal crash involved a DHC6-400 Twin Otter aircraft belonging to the Royal Thai Police, which went down approximately 150 metres off the coast between Cha-am and Hua Hin in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province on 25 April 2025. On 4 May, a team of investigators from Hua Hin Police Station, led by Pol. Lt. Col. Narueponat Assadin Decha, Deputy Superintendent of Investigation, and Pol. Lt. Col. Kittinaret Arakroongpong, Inspector of Patrol, oversaw the removal of the black box from the aircraft. The team was supported by aviation safety experts from the aircraft’s Canadian manufacturer, technical personnel, forensic officers from Prachuap Khiri Khan, and other related agencies. The operation involved lifting the aircraft’s tail section with a sling to ensure safety during extraction. The black box, an orange-coloured unit located near the rear of the engines, consists of two crucial components: the Flight Data Recorder (FDR), which stores technical flight data, and the Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR), which captures cockpit audio. Both devices were carefully documented and photographed before being sealed and prepared for transport to Canada’s Aviation Safety Centre, where they will undergo detailed analysis. Officials have yet to specify how long the examination and data recovery process will take before results are returned to Thai investigators. Meanwhile, a full inspection of the aircraft’s remaining components is scheduled to take place from 4 to 8 May. The wreckage will then be temporarily stored at Naresuan Camp in Cha-am, Phetchaburi, before being transferred to the Police Aviation Division in Bangkok for further investigation.
