February 25, 201016 yr I got a question, everyone is always talking about the slingbox and it caught my interest. I still have my parents in Holland so i might set up a slingbox there (might). The question is if they are watching a chanel do i have to watch the same chanel at the same time ? Would a second small tv work to avoid this problem ?
February 25, 201016 yr LOL NO NO NO You connect the slingbox to a TV antenna using a splitter then it has it's own tuner to receive the signal which is then sent to you via the internet. Your parents would have no idea what you are watching.

The Hava Video Streamer may meet your requirements. With the Hava, you can connect a USB hard drive to store recordings then watch (time shift) the TV programs. Personally, I own a Slingbox and have no way of knowing if these systems perform as well, worse, or better than a Slingbox. I only wish the SB offered this feature.
