kat
Just a typical day of riding the Chayo Phraya river ferry with it's normal mix of passengers...Bangkok can be so boring sometimes.... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Jeez.......................they're all Farangs. See 'em in ten years time. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Based on your usual torrent of hate-filled sentiments, you must be way past your 10 year mark. sriracha john
Geez... who would have thought these photos on the river would generate so much press? I certainly didn't when I started this thread innocently and humorously. The photos have been removed from the official Miss Universe site and many other sites, but 2 pages of these "controversial" photos are available here: http://www.globalbeauties.com/universe/200...praya/praya.htm

Flysiam
Hmmmmm seems a few people love to see their names in the press...They would probably scream if the women were posing by the passing Wats wearing long burlap bags. How hypocritical... but then ....... TiT!! Just gotta laugh and smile... is that why it is the LOS??

Tarragona
The Nation have a great poll on their website: "Swimsuits were the only costumes selected for a Miss Universe 2005 promotional footage featuring contestants in swimsuits with Buddhist sites in the background. Was it a deliberate or accidental act by the event organiser?" You can choose "Yes" or "No"

aughie
In reference to The Nation Poll. Thais don't expect people to know everything about their ways so where was the Thai liasion or chargé d'affairs who should have had this sorted out before the pictures went public as official photos of the pagent? If the pagent used their own photographers where was the Thai liasion on the photo shoot? There must have been a number of Thais to act as interpreter as well as to insure that things go smoothly, to organize the transportation, supervise the movement of equipment, communicate w/ city officials. There was no thai on hand watching events? It is the farang fault all the way through the proofing, selection, and posting of the pics as officialy representive of the event? Wanting to send anybody here would indicate a dislike for that person ! It wouldn't keep her off the 'net though ! (and she may not have to actually wear a burqua !). Off topic (obviously). One of our female employees accpted a job with Afghan Telecom. She lasted TWO days and asked to come back to her old job with us. She wasn't prepared for the way the Afghan (Muslim) men treat women, especially those that work for a living. Rude awakening to be sure.
