Dog Sitting In Chiang Mai

Featured Replies

I live in Chiang Mai and have a medium sized, well-behaved, well-socialzed dog (he was our companion for four years before we moved here and we brought him with us from the States). I have used a few of the more well-known dog boarding places in town which have been alright but I'm hoping to find someplace that is more of a "home-like" atmonsphere and that does not have too many dogs boarding at one time (one of the places we tried last year had about 12 dogs in the backyard which can get a bit overwhelming with all the territorial issues that crop up among most groups of dogs).

We were lucky to have a family living close-by that took in a few dogs at a time; they took amazing care of our dog for the last year whenever we were out of town, but unfortunately they are leaving Thailand this summer so I'd like to find another place so that our dog can get used to it before we leave for a month over the summer.

Any recommendations/suggestions greatly appreciated!

Oh I wish I could help. I use to dog sit in America and love it, even though the dog had fear aggression issues. He was just a grumpy teddy bear though. lol

I will be living in the university's dorm by April so I wouldnt be able to help. :)

Not sure you have tried "Lucky Dogs" out in the doi Soket/outter ring road area...

The dutch owner who is a vet in her own country does a real nice job of understanding/matching appropriate dogs with each other. While they have many b/c she is so popular especially with foreigners, she does not use cages for dogs or small indoor concrete cubicles so often we see for thai-run places...

They are well-covered areas with high bamboo fences so the dogs can only see the other runs they are with. This area is out in the country and we have been very pleased over the years with her services and care for our golden retrievers...

She is well-advertised in various publications and can find her in the Chiang Mai Mail newspaper...
