Anyone using the combo ovens with both gas burners on the top and one sole electric style hotplate , the internal oven section uses an electric element opposed to gas.

Can anyone comment on the pros and cons of this type of appliance ?

I'm partial to an all gas machine but my wife is convinced this is a better option.

i have a very similar model. the pro for the electric oven is that it cooks food quite evenly and pre-heats rather quickly. the cons are regarding the gas burners. they seem a bit flaky, can be hard to light and if you are using more than 3 burners at the same time, the 4th burner can be difficult to get lit.

The most preferred in Australia is the combination of gas burners and electric oven. As per the previous post even cooking is the big advantage especially if you bake cakes. Also electric ovens in many models can be controlled by a timer and turn on and off at the times you set.

Since Thailand for the most part is a tropical climate en electric convection oven works best. I don't like electric burners on the top of the stove as they are difficult to control the heat. Best to find a stove with four gas burners and an electric oven with a fan inside which is a convection oven. The Stainless steel ones like you have pictured can be had from 25,000 to 30,000 Baht in most home stores.
