Hi,

I live in Phuket, and plan to go school and get an Education Visa for 1 year, where is the best place to apply for this visa in south east Asia ? Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Ventiane, Pnomh Penh ?

I haven't the the letter from the Ministry of Education but the certificate of my school, is it possible to get it ?

Thanks a lot !

It seems that consulates within the region require both a letter from the school and also the letter from the Ministry of Education confiming that the school is licenced. You should insist anyway that the school get the MoE letter for you for your visa application, because it will be needed later when you apply for extension of stay at Thai immigration every 90 days. If the school cannot get the MoE letter for the consulate, it could mean they are not registered with the MoE and therefore you would not be able to later obtain extensions of stay. With the correct paperwork most consulates within the region will issue single entry Non-ED visa.

Vientiane in Laos is the most popular location.

Both will issue with the correct paperwork. Be aware that the consulate at Singapore does have a history of changing requirements (and often at short notice) so if using suggest you check with them before you go. The consulate at KL is efficient and helpful.
