I am planning to do a border run to activate my second 60 day stay on my tourist visa, I am aware of the 30 day extension at a local immigration office but it is pointless as I am booked to return to the UK exactly on day number 120. Can somebody please give me a Laymans guide to exit at the nearest border crossing from Buriram city, including what I need like forms..? photos..? cost and other helpful advice to make it simple and avoid time wasting..

Many Thanks

Chong Chom border crossing is probably closest to city of Buriram. Bring 2 photos. Forms available at the border. Cost is about 1200 Baht.

This is the most pleasant crossing, in my experience.

Exit Thailand 5 mins, entry Cambodia 5 mins, walk across the road and exit Cambodia 5 mins, enter Thailand 5 mins. All done in under 30 mins.

Good luck.

Yes crossing at Chong Chom is the closest.

I have a car so i have no experience with the buses, but I'm sure you can get a bus from Buriam to Chong chom, also there should be vans available that will be going there to take people to the casino so you should be able to find a van which would be faster, dont know the costs.

Once there you will be approached by guys saying they will help you with your visa, tell them no you dont need any help its very easy. Everything is straight forard exit Thailand enter Cambodia, exit Cambodia enter Thailand. NOTE: the guys in Cambodia immigration are going to try and get anywhere from 200 to 400 possibly 500 baht for not staying in Cambodia, tell them no and wait them out. Most of the time it works, sometimes they guy wont give in and then just give him 200 baht no more.

Good luck!!!

Note that day 60 and day 1 of your new entry will be the same, unless you stay a night abroad. So you will have 119 days, not 120 days.

At the airport 1 day overstay is not fined, but noted in your passport. (For Thailand this has no consequences regarding a new entry or visa). But do not get caught with an overstay while on your way. It is unlikely to turn serious, but can be.
