As much as I hate them I need to book some flights with Thai Air and cannot book online. Every time I try to make a booking (using either iExplorer or Firefox) at the point where I click "Comfirm Trip" I get this error;

HTTP Status 500 -

type Exception report

message

description The server encountered an internal error () that prevented it from fulfilling this request.

exception javax.servlet.ServletException: Java heap space org.apache.catalina.security.SecurityUtil.execute(SecurityUtil.java:300) org.apache.catalina.security.SecurityUtil.doAsPrivilege(SecurityUtil.java:165)

Of course Thai Air have the worst customer service in the world so nobody has fixed this fault and I cannot call anyone in their call center so I am stuck not being able to book my flights.

Has anyone got any suggestions?

Do any travel agents in the UK have good promotions or offers with Thai Air and I can book through them?

If you can't actually call, then maybe:

Reinstall or upgrade the version of java on your computer.

Try another computer.

Try another browser.

I've gotten errors from their website before but it usually works fine later. Not sure if it's because I've rebooted in the intervening time or they've fixed something on their end.

Thanks for the reply. I can't call because they are not open during the weekends and Monday morning is cutting it fine, also they have the worst customer calling center I have ever had to use, I dread even thinking about having to deal with them again.

I tried restarting and re-installing, still have the error and cannot complete the booking. I hope their techs sort this out over the weekend.

Maybe not an option - but is Thai Airways the ONLY carrier which flies to your destination?

Personally, I only ever fly with Thai Airways if there is no other choice - like last week, when I needed to travel between Bangkok and Khon Kaen -- Thai Airways has a monopoly on the route.

Basically if ANY other carrier was available then Thai Air would be my last choice!!

Emirates flies from Gatwick at a shitty time and at about 5 hours longer travel when you factor in the change in Dubai.

^ and ^^ So basically, Thai Airways has the best service available to/from Heathrow and to/from Khon Kaen.

Their website is working fine here; just booked my Udon-Bangkok r/t.

Suggest the OP try Ethiopian via Addis...

I am getting the same problem this morning and have rebooted and tried 3 browsers, same result. I think that it is a Thai Airways problem .

Yes, this error message is generated by their server. Your browser or computer has nothing to do with this and, unfortunately, you have to hope they have some IT staff aware of this and able to fix it.

Thanks for comfirming it is a Thai Air problem, as I've been trying everything my end. In keeping with their piss poor standards, Thai Air have no customer service on Saturday or Sunday, I pray for their collapse so a decent company may come in and take their place!

So, who else flies from London Heathrow to Bangkok? EVA have no flights and we want to leave tomorrow night (Monday).

Is there a travel agent I can use, especially one that can get me a cheaper deal??

Call K Mike (English speaking Thai guy) at: Urgent case, please call 081-933 6747

I've used Green Travel for several trips to the U.S., I usually pay by bank ATM transfer, saves driving downtown. It works, as do the tickets.

Good luck

Hi Mac,

Thanks for help.

I'm currently in UK and the travel agents have just opened up so hopefully one of them can sort this out for me asap from this end.

Cheers.
