nicholasmerwood
Hey guys, My Thai wife and I are coming back to Thailand next week, and staying for a month. I'm not sure how the Thai 'health-care' system works, if something unfortunate happened to her. Is it worth getting travel insurance for her? If so, which company can do this, as most companies I have come across in Australia only insure Australian citizens. Thanks Nick
nam-thip
You've left it a bit late but get in touch with BUPA international and see if you can arrange insurance for her ahead of your arrival via the internet. http://www.bupa-intl.com/ BUPA Australia might offer cover for international travel. http://www.bupa.com.au/BUPA/index.htm check out Thai visa (insurance) if they can offer your lady medical cover. http://insurance.thaivisa.com/ Edited March 29, 2010 by nam-thip
xen
Check out Colombus travel insurance - You only need to have been a resident of Oz for the previous 3 months and be departing from Oz.. It is $325 for a basic individual annual travel insurance .Individual trips would be less. I think they aim for the backpacker/budget market but i have used them for years but never had to claim so don't know how good they are if something does go wrong. .
