Police are now being paraded en masse with military in these corridors composed of reds, as if walking a red carpet hero's welcome, shaking hands, saluting etc...

The Nation reports this: The red shirts are milling outside the station's office building. The riot forces line up to protect the building.

Watching live TV pictures I can see the first bit is true but no sign on the second. Soldiers are gathering in a field with red shirts, looks like a negotiation possibly.

I think too many people here believe the Yellow newspapers and media.

They have got far too opinionated on the anti-Thaksin rhetoric and propaganda.

This government was appointed after unjust actions by the Yellow controlled elite. Its not wanted, Abhisit is not wanted, the people have spoken and they want this bunch of corrupt human rights infingers kicked out.

The Army and Police are not going to disagree with that.

Abhisit has had how long to change the constitution and ready the country for elections ? And now he claims be needs 9 months more. Why did he not do it already ? Because he has no intention of returning democracy to the people.

The Yellows have committed since the coup far worse things than Thaksin ever did, and not its time for the Yellow Elite to fall on their own sword and get their hands off of power.

Elections for the people, now !

All this rhetoric form someone calling them self "Levelhead"? More like a _ i _ _ head I think.

Cheers

Perhaps wishful thinking on behalf of Nation.

Any negotiation is finished. Looks to me like the entire police force has defected. Many soldiers are now seen wearing red epaulets and the rest ran away across a rice field. Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction.

According to the better of the two english language papers, the one we can't name on here, The PM and deputy PM had an argument with Anupong who said he was not prepared to use ANY force against the protesters, the talk is his deputy will take over the situation.

get ready for a TV free weekend. Goodness, I can imagine your girls going mad because of this.

On a more serious note. It could be that the reds are allowed by the troops to shut down so that they can't be blamed themselves.

This is ridiculous.

Could be a coup,, or part of it. Curfew over the weekend and no TV I think. :)

Maybe... they went thought the barricades like butter.

I watched it when it started. Everything was over in about five minutes. Something like this makes me believe that it wasn't just the troops on the ground. It looks like at the very least the command structure on the ground at Thaicom ordered the troops to cease and withdraw...if not higher up.

We may have just seen a coup.

Not a coup. Possibly a revolution though.

i see helicopters buzzing overhead, it would not take too much imagination to get all the friendly forces out of the immediate vicinity and then tear gas the whole area........

Look, the Thai army with a decent man in charge will not use violence against the Thai people.

End of story.

Annupong requested Somchai to step down for using tear gas on the Yellows, how can he now take any action with that quote on his record ?

The government is not in control, Abhisit and Suthep are clinging to power, and they will both likely at the end of this be charged under potential ongoing violations of the constitution, the PTP politicians are keeping careful notes of all potential breaches.

A and S should just give up, dissolve the House and allow everyone a peaceful Songkran and elections not long after.

Simple.

Yep, the trap has been set and the Reds are taking the bait. Get them away from Rachaprasong (the hard core morons) to a nice relatively sparse area in which to round em up.

well, for the Brits, Yanks and Europeans, this is what happens when you have an army of conscripts instead of professional soldiers.

I have just finished my new house as well, bugga!

Wishful thinking I'm afraid. The fat lady has sung.

OK, so now Nutthawut is threatening violence.

Only thing is, I don't see any soldiers left at Thaicom, apart from the ones wearing red epaulets. The rest all ran away across the rice field.

If the government does not unblock signal of the People Channel within late this afternoon, the red-shirts will surround Nonthaburi provincial hall, red-shirt leader Suporn Atthawong said on Friday.

He was speaking at a mobile rally stage in front of the Thaicom office on Rattanathibeth road in Nonthaburi.

all this shit for a TV station?

let them watch the Thai soaps on channel 1 3 5 7

that will put even the most ardent insomniacs to sleep ......

This is all what Thaksin and the Yellows want.

Sorry for the people, it's not for them.

All U-streams from Thailand are offline.

Veera warns of consequences if arrested

BANGKOK: -- Red-shirt leader Veera Musigapong on Friday warns about consequences if police will arrest him and other leaders.

"If police arrest red-shirt leaders, then I am certain the people will not go home to celebrate Songkran," he said, hinting at protests to escalate.

In two batches of warrants issued, police are preparing to round up seven red-shirt leaders for involving the raid of Parliament and the other 17 leaders for involving in the Rajprasong rally.

ok, arrest who they can and helicopter them out to a remote naval controlled island offshore

tell their red comrades where they are and tell them to go get them or give them some bread and water and tell them they can swim for it, if they want .........
