Try Fortune Town, good pc mall there and not as frenetic as pantip. Just next to Phraram 9 MRT station.

Seacon Square - B1 level

Panthip 2 - Bangkapi

ZEER Street Mall, just a bit north of Don Muang airport.

Future Park Rangsit Mall, 3rd floor, south end, has an ACER outlet and an IT shop.

IT Plaza at Laksi, where Chang Wattana and Vibhavadi-Rangsit Roads cross.

Kind of depends on where you're starting from in Bangkok.

FYI, Fortune Town has a MRT Subway stop there.

I just spoke to a Thai friend who runs a shop at Pantip, Bangkok.

At 10.30am Pantip is fully open. What might hapen later in the day is of course anybody's guess.

Unless you really need to go to Pantip, avoid the area for now. You can easily get what you need in the other places listed above. Fortune has almost everything you can find in Pantip and certainly Acer notebooks. Unlikely to be much difference in price as many shops are in competition with each other. At most you might find a deal which is 100 baht cheaper for a notebook at Pantip, but you will spend time walking from shop to shop to compare prices. This can be done at Fortune in a more compact area and with convenient transport (taxis and the underground train) on the doorstep. Happy shopping.

I agree with all and think its true depending where you live. I think Big-C and Tesco Lotus and every 3rd store in Bkk sells computers. It shouldnt be hard to find one mate.
