Finished building the house and now put the finishing touches like "The sofa" The wife's kids are treating the new sofa like a trampoline fit for the olympics.lol. Now they are lovely kids but from where I come from you sit on the sofa to watch TV and relax, but they just keep knocking seven bells of s**t out of it and I can't keep my beady eyes off em...! someone please tell me to chill down and expect that after 1 week it will look like its been in a mud bath and half ravaged by dogs, and next year i just buy another one..! >>>???

Forget about the shrink Jason, just go out and buy a trampoline and set it up in the garden then explain to the wife what the trampoline is for and get her to explain to the kids, and then try and explain what the sofa is for...Good luck with this, as you probably well know nothing is simplicity in Thailand. :)

PS, try have a bounce around with the wife on the trampoline whilst the kids are asleep, it might rejuvanate ya both.

Oh my, first you say "the start of another downfall", how do you know he's had one previously, you don't as the OP never mentioned one.

Then you tell the OP to "tell them to get the f&*k off your couch and stay off".

Great that telling him to swear at his wifes kids...Doh.

You then go on to say "I would never let my ole ladies kids pull that crap with "my stuff", its called respect"..

So by saying that do I presume that even though/if your married it's your stuff and nothings shared, jee I bet your a right barrel of laughs in a relationship, good luck in your quest for happiness, you sound like a right cantankerous grumpy old man.

Oh and thunder, reply if you wish to this post but don't expect a reply, I'll not waste the effort of using my typing finger on you.

Bunch of old grouches. :) Kids like to have fun. Thai kids are not used to nice furniture, and like most people in Thailand they don't think of the future. Eventually, they will tire of the game. The trampoline is a good idea, but they can be dangerous. Buy an easy chair just for yourself and tell your wife that it is ONLY for you. Possessions are just THINGS to be enjoyed. Don't sweat the little stuff. When kids are growing up there is GOING to be some destruction. It's the same with owning pets. It's just part of the process.

Thanks for all your reply guys, I have tried to educate them, like eating and drinking at the table. And they just smile when I grunt in my english tone "No climbing, no eating, no drinking etc etc on the Sofa..!

I need to let go...........

It took some time but i eventually taught my three year old daughter what 'sit down' means.

Now she sits down on the sofa no problem but leans into me or the misses which has become lesson number two......................lol.

Be patient, don't give in.

Yeah mb1 great analysis of my post <deleted> are you ranting about ??? Another downfall as in the many on tv publicly displayed when they didnt follow their own rules as they do back home, not talking about this person in particular. Swear at his kids ?? He can tell them anyway he wants to get off the couch, doesnt have to use that word, but he dam_n well should tell them to !!! And to answer your <deleted>*&ed up presumption about my woman everything we have is shared but her kids respect her too and would never do anything like that !!!! Im not grumpy or old and def not a pussy farang husband who lets his thai wifes kids do whatever they like because its the farangs stuff which doesnt have value.

Seems like this would be a good time to learn to speak Thai...

Mai me Marayard, Lor?? - Have you no manners?

Ok Pbai!!! - GET OUT!!

Bow bow na... - Softly does it...

All useful phrases for rowded kids.

I'd get a taser and zap the twunts! but thats why I live alone. I don't care who owns the sh7t, I just like peace and quiet!

Good luck.

First of all it is your wife's place to discipline her chilrden. Start there.

Sounds like your wife is very disrespectfull of your money and property. I wonder how she treats other things you think belong to you?

She's not disrespectful. Thais just value things differently. There are MANY learning curves when east meets west. It's tough enough when couples from similar backgrounds try to live together. That is one reason why I stay single.

The kids need to be taught some discipline and manners, its not their fault but the parents for letting them get away with it. The girl I live with her sister has absolutely no value for anything, she will let her little boy stuff items in the cd player until its broke, he runs around the house drawing over everything and breaking anything he feels like. The attitude of her is, its OK farang husband will buy another one, absolutely disgusting woman, i can barely at times even look her in the eye.

Thankfully her sister (my missus) is the complete opposite and does value things, i wouldn't be with her otherwise. The OP needs to shout at the kids let them know its not on, if that causes problems with the missus then he needs to re-valuate the relationship, not because of a sofa but because there is no respect for him at all by the sounds of it.

Good advice

Wait till they end up next to the trampolene, or 2 tramplolene legs fold in before they landed.

Some experience here, wen 2 times to the hospital with my son.

Need to explain that he realy is a wild monkey, just be careful and have a soft flooring or grass around the trampolene and a first aid kid availeble. :D

I realy enjoy trampolene myself :D
