With the greatest respect, I do not imagine Thai Immigration are going to waive over-stay charges " because Lopburi3 and George said so". It would be amusing to see the looks on their faces though... :)

Please can we have the official document that confirms the no-fee arrangement (or at least the link to it) as soon as possible now that European airspace is open and flights are starting to resume.

Many thanks on behalf of all those affected by delays and associated costs.

I think that the posters you mention, as well as many others have seen for themselves that Thai Immigration exercise a large amount of discretion as regards to overstay and other issues. I have lived here for more than 10 years witnessed numerous times as immigration have let people through when given a polite, reasonably valid reason.

I do sympathise with the plight of all those stranded, but I do look forward to the 'amused' look on your face when the remaining gates open; since hundreds of people have already been let through without overstay fees.

I don't recall saying any such thing but if you have such a link would be happy to expand on it.

I suspect if you exit at airport with overstay but can show the reason was flight non availability there will be no overstay fine but until flights resume and people try we are only guessing. I would allow extra time at check-in.
