Does the wife of an expat also get the SS security benifits that the thai ladies get during pregnancy ? I have heard there are benifits like monthly month transfers ( after a thai doc certifies u as prego) and also C section and delivery charges ( what every is applicable).

Also is it applicable if the wife is non working but hubby been paying SS for a few years ? :)

Hi,

I am not sure if you would be eligible if you are the non working wife of someone who is paying for the Thai social fund but the amounts they give out are fairly low anyway, nothing like back home. I think it was 20,000 Baht to help pay for the birth and then they transfer 350 Baht every month to your bank account until your child is 16.

Not eligible on a spouses soc security. She must be in the system on her own.

I think for maternity benefits she must be in the system 7 months before collecting anything.
