Thai Schooling Fees

Recommended Posts

If the school is considered to be a good one and it's filling up to capacity, you may have to pay some extra "fees" to get your child in there. These "fees" are of the same type often paid to government officials to make things run more smoothly. :o

And the same as many of the better private schools in the west "request" (or at least in my experience with a couple of schools in the US) as a donation to the upkeep of the institution.

:D

Not really. There already are payments in the normal tuition fees for that purpose here in Thailand (or at least there used to be).

As Lop mentioned, fees can vary, but for example, in Chiang Dao at the Prathom level, books, uniform, comp/English fees,... 1,850 baht this term at one particular school. Tuition is free, as it's a government school.

Nah, these are paid with the initial application (often with the blank for the amount on the application) before tuition is billed. Ruamrudee,Wattana (100k Baht each, the former when 100k was $4kUS; both here in the LOS)... Hyde Park, St. Stephen's Episcopal, both stateside, $5-6kUS and $11kUS if I recall correctly.

:D
