Crazed police officer kills man in Thailand

BANGKOK (AFP) - A mentally deranged Thai policeman was charged with murder Sunday for killing a man who tried to intervene in a bizarre stand-off by grabbing the officer's gun, police said.

Police Sergeant Somkuan Reeying was waving his weapon in a threatening manner at passers-by in Chonburi province early Sunday, police Lieutenant Colonel Pongsak Somboon said.

"He was deranged and waving his gun in front of the police station. A man passed by, then tried to take the gun from the sergeant to end the crisis and he was shot in the abdomen."

The 21-year-old victim, who was not identified, died at hospital.

Somkuan then hid in the station for several hours before police burst in and arrested him.

WOW :o

How do these things happen? Ya Baa?

It wouldn't be the pressure of the job would it?
